Mr. Sachin Sapra having Diploma in Business Finance from ICFAI is a fellow member of ICSI and registered as Insolvency Professional with IBBI. He was ranked 3rd on All India Basis in the Examinations of Insolvency Professional conducted by Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India. He has enriched experience in Corporate Laws Matters for over 22 years. He is also Proprietor of S. & S. Associates, well renowned Company Secretary Firm in Delhi, NCR and also one of the Founder and at present Director of Lexlocus Insolvency Professional Limited having specialization in Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.


He is also engaged in providing management consultancy and Advisory Services to different types of clients including MNCs, Corporate, Trusts, Societies and firms as well in different types of areas of business. Is having wide exposure of appearance before various authorities including ROC, Hon’ble Regional Director, Hon’ble NCLT Bench. He has extensive experience and expertise of corporate laws including the new Companies Act, 2013 and has profound experience of Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Restructuring including strategy development, due diligence, pre-merger planning and post-merger integration.


He plays an integral role in the team. He has also contributed Articles in house journal "Chartered Secretary" published by ICSI, on various topics of varied interests. He has also raised lots of posers during the finalization of book i.e. “Guidance Note of Buy Back of Securities” published by ICSI. His interview relating to “The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016” has been published in Business today.


He has been actively contributing his suggestions to ICSI on various Companies Act, 2013 provisions from time to time. He is also being appointed as the interim resolution professional by Hon’ble Principal Bench, NCLT, New Delhi in connection with the corporate insolvency resolution process of a Company. He has also elected as member of the Expert Group Panel for the Query Platform of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.He is also serving on the Board of Membership Committee of ICSI Institute of Insolvency Professionals.

What is voluntary liquidation under IBC, 2016?

Voluntary liquidation is a process under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC), where a solvent corporate person (company, LLP, etc.) initiates liquidation proceedings voluntarily when it has no debt or is able to pay its debts in full.

Who can initiate voluntary liquidation?

Section 59(1) of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 provides that:

“A corporate person who intends to liquidate itself voluntarily and has not committed any default may initiate voluntary liquidation proceedings under the provisions of this Chapter.”
